Welcome to Boatwright! Have you ever been genuinely greeted by someone who cares that you stopped by? This is the goal of your Library Access Services staff. From the first moment you interact with us, we are here to help you have a great experience. This past year has been challenging for all of us and we appreciate your gift of patience as we request your URID when you walk in the door! We appreciate your wearing a mask and helping us to provide a safe environment in a building where spaces have been known to fill up quickly and our students spend many hours preparing for classes!
We are here and ready to assist you with access to materials during these last few weeks of restricted access to the materials on our basement levels. While it was shared in a previous message that basement level one will remain closed, we look forward to your again having browsing access to basement level two and assisting you with finding materials in our reorganized stacks on that level.
Additionally, when the stacks reopen, you can choose the option to check out materials via mobile app while still in the stacks and then just swipe them as you leave the building. Our team is happy to help you with this feature, our freestanding self-check-out or assist you by checking materials out at our Information & Assistance Desk.
Something that is here to stay, however, is the ability for you to request materials for quick pick up here at the library or delivery to your office. We are excited that this is a service we can continue to provide especially as so many of you have used the contact-less option of picking items up during the past year. Thank you for proving this to be a viable change to our former service.
Before I forget, we hope you will stop by and visit our student curated book displays. Each month our students choose a theme and research materials accessible in our collection to share with everyone who enters the library. We are excited about this opportunity to help them learn practical skills of planning an idea, collaborating with others and carrying the project through to completion.
Hope to see you soon!
