October has come and gone which means the new November display has “fall”-en upon the Boatwright Memorial Library! Our students chose “International Authors & Their Works” as this month’s theme which is featured in the 2nd floor silent study area and behind the main service desk!
Reda Ansar, a lead student worker, leads the process to add books to a google spreadsheet, collects the books from the stacks on B2, and creates the posters seen on display. I asked her what inspired this month’s display:
“There is so much talent outside of just the English realm/language that I wanted to showcase. As someone who grew up in a non-English speaking/Pakistani/non-American household, I also know how much it meant to me to see my language reflected in the showcase. I wanted to give other students the opportunity to see their own heritage/culture reflected in the displays” – Reda Ansar, English & Political Science Major
Have no fear! Books on display are still available for check out. There are titles in Russian, Arabic, Spanish, & more! Stop by the library any time this month before they are back in the stacks!
