Boatwright Reopening Plans for Fall 2020

We are facing a challenging situation in which all of us are called on to make a good faith effort to be flexible and to make decisions in the best interest of the community, including staying home when sick. Persons who are sick should not come to the libraries. If you are ill and require research assistance, please contact us via the library’s chat service, text, email, or by appointment (via Zoom) and we will make every effort to deliver resources to you.

Boatwright Library will open Monday – Friday, August 17 – 21, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Fall Semester Hours begin Monday, August 24:

  • Sunday 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Monday – Thursday 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Friday 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

NO 24/7 hours for Fall 2020

Parsons Music Library will open on Monday, August 24. Fall hours are:

  • Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5 pm

The following rules and procedures apply at all times:

  • Physical distancing should take place in the library at all times by observing signage and furniture restrictions. Masks are required.
  • Study rooms are limited to one person occupancy and reservations are required.
  • UR ID required for entry to Boatwright. No outside visitors.
  • Use self-check machine to check out books.
  • Use bell at the desk for in-person assistance.
  • Users are encouraged to consume food and drink outside of the library.
  • For all research and reference appointments during the fall term, use the library’s chat service, text, email, or by appointment (via Zoom) with a liaison librarian.

Due to physical distancing guidelines and the loss of group study spaces due to summer classroom, TLC and Faculty HUB construction, space to accommodate students wishing to take online classes in Boatwright Library is limited. Seats are available in the library’s Collaborative Areas on a first come first serve basis. Use of headphones is encouraged. Study rooms will be available by reservation only to accommodate demand.
